We aim for WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We're not claiming to have formally certified against it — this page says what's actually been done and what hasn't.

Built in

• A skip link to the main content, as the first thing you reach by keyboard.
• Visible focus outlines on everything interactive, including on dark sections.
• Text colours checked against their backgrounds; the measured ratios are recorded alongside the colour definitions.
• Real headings in order, landmarks, and breadcrumb trails marked up properly.
• Descriptive alt text required on every guide image — the build fails without it.
• Touch targets at least 44px on phones.
• Animation reduced automatically if your system asks for that.
• Text that reflows to 320px without sideways scrolling; wide tables scroll inside their own box.
• No cookie banner that traps keyboard focus — you can tab straight past it, and Escape dismisses it without consenting.

Known gaps

• The site hasn't yet been tested end-to-end with a screen reader by someone who uses one daily. That's a real limitation, not a formality.
• Some licensed photography may carry alt text written by us rather than by the photographer.
